On November 13, 2025, Most Venerable Hsin Bau, Abbot of Fo Guang Shan, visited Guang Ming College accompanied by Venerable Yung Guang, Head Abbess of Fo Guang Shan Philippines; Venerable Miao Jing, Abbess of Mabuhay Temple; and Venerable Jue Lin, the monastery supervisor. He encouraged students to cherish their learning opportunities and to nurture both responsibility and a heart of service.

“You must study well and contribute to society,” Most Venerable Hsin Bau told the students. “Aside from academics, you must be responsible for yourselves and for the community. One person’s success is not enough—you must always think of society and others.” He praised the college’s leadership, strong campus culture, and the outstanding performance of students, particularly their achievements in cheerleading and athletics.

College President Michael Tan expressed gratitude for the visit and emphasized that Guang Ming College was founded through the compassion of Venerable Master Hsing Yun to provide students with four years of free education. “Free education is not just a privilege—it is a call to serve and give back to society,” he said. He hopes that future graduates will uphold integrity and become valuable contributors to the community.

During the visit, Most Venerable Hsin Bau also inquired about the students’ daily life and meal arrangements. Learning that all students receive free tuition, lodging, and meals, he commended the compassion and dedication shown by Fo Guang Shan Philippines and the College. Many students shared that they felt encouraged and inspired; one commented, “I really like Most Venerable Hsin Bau because his name makes me feel protected and blessed.”

The visit concluded in an atmosphere of warmth and gratitude, bringing renewed confidence and positive energy to the Guang Ming College campus.
