On November 13, 2025, Fo Guang Shan Mabuhay Temple in the Philippines held a beautiful Bodhi Couples Blessing Ceremony, where Most Venerable Hsin Bau blessed nearly 70 couples—from newlyweds to diamond anniversaries. Around 400 attendees gathered to witness the joy of enduring love and harmonious unions.
The Main Shrine was elegantly decorated with floral peacocks, arches, and red carpets, creating a romantic and serene atmosphere. To the sound of gentle music and applause, the Bodhi couples, guided by flower children, entered the hall, followed by the monks.
During the ceremony, Most Venerable Hsin Bau led chanting, vows before the Buddha, and the exchange of tokens. The temple presented prayer beads symbolizing happiness and completeness, wishing couples unity of heart, practice of the Three Virtues, and the creation of Buddha-inspired families. Couples exchanged tokens, embraced, and shared their love and gratitude.
Representatives read the Bodhi Couples Vow, pledging mutual trust, understanding, and dedication to family and Dharma. Venerable Xin Bau reminded everyone that in Buddhism, spouses are “co-practitioners” who grow together. Marriage requires compassion, tolerance, and patience—letting go of self allows true happiness. “A family’s prosperity starts with harmony,” he said, noting that a long-lasting, harmonious marriage is a daily practice of love and care.
Couples married 62 years joined with their children and grandchildren, sharing joy across three generations. Other long-married couples served as witnesses, expressing gratitude and happiness for the rare, meaningful experience. Newlyweds felt inspired by the blessings and the decades-long marriages of others, hoping to grow together in love and support.
The ceremony ended with a beautiful violin performance, group photos, and surprise individual photos with Most Venerable Hsin Bau, filling the hall with joy, Dharma happiness, and abundant blessings.
